Ann LaGoy, owner, Sound Earth
Ann Margarette LaGoy established Home Assistance Cleaning Service, a residential and commercial cleaning service, when she moved to the Hudson Valley in 1996. Prompted by her own acute reaction to chloromine gas in 1999, Ann developed a line of 100% natural, cruelty-free cleaning products.
Ann continues to research contents and effects of chemical cleaners on humans, animals and the environment. Ann also speaks and writes on this topic to increase public awareness. In 2003, Ann sold Home Assistance Cleaning Service to focus on Sound Earth, LLC and community activism.
Ann has worked since 1998 as an activist in the Hudson Valley focusing on environmental preservation, community education and individual participation in the democratic process at the local, state, and federal levels of government.
In 2001 Ann co-established Fishkill Ridge Community Heritage and has since served as its president. Fishkill Ridge Community Heritage is a community-based organization dedicated to meeting the challenge of change, growth, and conservation within the Hudson Valley.
In 2007 Ann was appointed to the Town of Fishkill's Environmental Advisory Board, and served for two years. In that time, Ann helped organize the completion of a walking trail on the Mt. Gulian property in Fishkill, facilitated an environmental audit for the Town Hall, and served as a resource to the community.
Prior to moving to the Hudson Valley, Ann worked in the health care field both while attending and upon graduation from SUNY Oswego. Ann holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and in Sociology.

I never gave much thought to natural cleaning products until I became a mother. Ann gave me a “Parents’ Essentials” gift bag at my baby shower, and it ended up at the back of the shelf until the little tot was born. I realized my baby’s toys needed cleaning, so into the closet I went. I was not happy with the thought of him putting hazardous cleaners in his mouth. I opened the Sound Earth gift bag
and soon started using the “Baby’s Bath Soap” and “Highchair Cleaner” regularly. When I found out all of the cleaning products could be cinnamon scented, I started using them all over my home. I was hooked!
“Pre-Motherhood”, I ran a Fred Astaire Dance Studios franchise, a position which required strong sales and public presentation skills. As a stay-at-home Mom, those skills began to wither. Ann mentioned some customers had asked about in-home parties, and I saw my opportunity! I could help Sound Earth, LLC grow, do something I am good at and create a position in which I could work around my son’s schedule.

Jann Mirchandani,
President, Mirchandani Consulting
Jann Mirchandani is the principal and creative engine behind Mirchandani Consulting, a graphic and web design firm. Jann is an award winner designer specializing in helping small and mid-sized firms in Westchester and outlying counties to find their voice and communicate more effectively with their target audiences.
Her industry expertise spans the financial sector, human resources and executive recruiting and non-profit. Through an extensive and robust network of business partners she provides big business marketing support to enterprises that are not yet fully-grown.
Most recently, her work was recognized by the Advertising Club of Westchester’s Big W Awards and Hermes Creative Awards. Her affiliations include the Business Council of Westchester and the New Yorktown Chamber of Commerce.
Jann has been working with Sound Earth since its birth in 1999, including re-working our logo, and look with the new cast of characters.
Jann lives in Yorktown with her family and her two children both attend Yorktown schools.
