Sodium bicarbonate (Baking soda)

Sodium bicarbonate is a white solid that is crystalline but often appears as a fine powder. A mild alkalis, or base, with a relatively low pH.

Uses: cooking, medical purposes, personal hygiene and a neutralizer. So many uses!

Found in: detergents, emulsifiers, paints, and several Sound Earth household cleaning products such as the Velvet Hammer, Fizzn' Floor Cleaner, and the Powder of Power.

Effects: extremely large oral dosage may cause gastrointestinal irritation. However, small doses are used to relieve stomach acid pain.

**Mix one part baking soda and three parts water to form a paste that can be applied to insect bites for relief.**
